  3. Palimpsest is a powerful Macintosh hypertext application that helps you study, read, research, teach and work with documents however you need to.

  5. How do I get Started?

  7. Open the Getting Started with Palimpsest document, in the Palimpsest 2(1) Documents folder. This gives an overview of the features of the application, and a feel for how to use it.

  9. Please take some time to investigate the features of Palimpsest. The application provides a broad range of powerful features. We believe a little time in investigating these features will be rewarded.

  11. We also suggest you make use of the extensive Balloon Help we have provided to help you understand what each menu command and window item does. Turn on Balloon Help by choosing Show Balloons from the Help menu.

  29. Palimpsest costs just $US 50.This gives you a year long "subscription" including all upgrades for 12 months, and full technical support for the same period.
  30. Registration is easy, using the mini application, Register Palimpsest, that is part of this package. You can also register securely online using your credit card via Kagi <http://www.kagi.com>

At our site you can register securely by credit card, with the trusted U.S. based Kagi Inc.,who handle our transactions. If you do not wish to register online by credit card, you can use Kagi to register by email, fax and mail or even telephone, using credit card, check, cash. See the accompanying "How to Register Palimpsest" for details.

  42. Palimpsest will run on any Macintosh with the following characteristics
  43. System 7.0 or later
  44. At least 4 MB available to Palimpsest (Virtual memory is acceptable)
  45. We recommend at least 4 MB of memory for Palimpsest
  46. Any Macintosh- We recommend a 68030, 68040 or PowerPC Macintosh

  48. Palimpsest is also available accelerated for PowerMacintosh, or for the non Power Macintosh family. To download the latest version of Palimpsest, please point your Web Browser to

  51. How do I remove Palimpsest?
  52.  
  53. Firstly, remove the Folder Palimpsest 2(1) Demo. Be sure to delete the file called Palimpsest Preferences, and the Folder called Palimpsest Servers from the Preferences folder in your System Folder.
  54. If you want to remove any documents you created using Palimpsest, use the finder's Find functionality, and look for all files whose creator is PALP.
